UTI cipro and taking a break

Hello, just asking advice. My husband had a roaring UTI, now it is purring. He is taking Cipro for it, and feeling awful for himself, so for a few days he has been off the regular protocol. Is that okay? Can he, once feeling better, take the doxy, roxy and Cipro, or is it too much for the liver?
Some maybe good news...he had a new MRI, but a different machine and doctor reading the results. The dr did not see anything on the spine, just a bit on the right side of the brain and nothing active. Now, we can't find the original MRI(we moved several times in the last 3 or 4 years), BUT we both remember the doctor then saying the main lesion was on the spine with a couple in the brain. Mind you, my husband walks worse, and still has problems down there, but maybe once this UTI is over we might see an improvement? He also has not gotten enough physio, which he intends on doing, but don't bring up the topic with him, if you value your life.....
We were pleased with the news, anyhow.

If he is only taking ciprofloxacin for a few days he would be al right to carry on with doxy and roxi, but I would think it too much for longer than that. Apart from metronidazole, David would never prescribe more than two abx for me at any one time. I hope he get over it soon, poor thing.

Good news about the new MRI: I seem to remember you saying that the original damage was in the spine. My guess is that once the UTI is over, the current problems will start to get better because any kind of stress really throws you off balance. It still does with me.

Of course, I won't mention the physio!! 8)

Thanks Sarah,
It appears to be quite bad...in fact if things don't get better he may go to hospital. The doctor came by today and said that he would have to take the Cipro for about 3 weeks. So, he's off the other stuff for the time being, I guess. Everything down there is very sore...his bladder is retaining too much, hence he may need it emptied.....it's been a tense exhausting few days!!
