Does anyone know of anything more recent about his research - or did the copy of GH my wife was reading come from the dentist's waiting room ?

A common antibiotic is the latest hope for treating multiple sclerosis (MS), which affects 85,000 people in the UK. Researchers believe minocycline could be used to supress the inflammation that destroys the protective covering of nerve fibres (myelin) in MS sufferers, causing numbness and paralysis. Animal tests suggest that minocycline could suppress MS if given in the early stages. The man leading the research, Dr Ian Duncan of the University of Wisconsin, says minocycline has great potential but stresses that it shouldn't be prescribeb until the results of the human clinical trials are announced.
