MS patients in the Media (TV, film, etc.)

Hi Aaron and the gang :) ~First, thank you so much for setting up the "MS in the Golden Years" forum. I had no idea it could be so easy to get a whole new forum topic started! Unfortunately now you've got me drunk with power  . I have another suggestion. And it's purely recreational, so if space is at a premium, my feelings certainly won't be hurt if there's not room for it .

You already have a topic going on books, "The Reading Nook", which is great. (It's even inspired me to consider actually reading some fiction again for a change!) But I've been watching as an MS storyline in NBC's "The West Wing" becomes more central to the show, and it has me wondering if there could be a place specifically to discuss things from media other than print or internet, such as movies or TV.

(Please forgive my redundancy if there already is such a topic on the site (where movies , TV, etc. are discussed); I looked but didn't find it.)

I'm vsguely envisioning a movie/TV version of "The Reading Nook", in which the subject matter is defined mostly by the poster's interest or enjoyment of some show or film. Maybe some of us Christmas fanatics could share our favorite holiday films on a thread, for example.

But one particular thread I'd really like to see would deal with portrayals of MS patients in the media, either true or fictional characters (such as in "The West Wing", "Hilary and Jackie", "Duet for One", etc.). I'd be very interested to read what other MSer's think about them.

Let me know what you think and thanks for listening.

P.S. I've been meaning to suggest this for some time, but whenever I get on the site, I immediately get caught up in significa, such as opinions on research and treatment news, and I forget. Heck, I'll bet I forget something (at least briefly) about every half hour on a busy day. Hope ya'll are doing better than that :? .
