Feeling of 'numbness' (not physical)

I just posted another thread that's more specific to one thing... but I wanted your opinion on this too.

It's hard to explain, but I find that in the past couple of years, it's almost like I'm a spectator to my own life.... I'll feel anger and sadness and depression, but the hapiness part, I feel it, but it's almost like it's someone else living it... like I don't completely feel the happy events that happen... I know it sounds weird and I'm not sure I'm explaining it right....

Like don't get me wrong, I AM happy most of the time... but I just find I don't FEEL the feelings of happiness like I used to.... :(

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and feel that way too?

What medications are you taking? I know firsthand that Ifn-B can make one feel as gray as the concrete.

I take Rebif 3 times a week... have been since August 2008, shortly after my diagnosis.

You think that's what it is? :(

Unfortunately, the chances are pretty good that's the case. You could discuss this problem with your doctor. They may try to sell you an antidepressant which will come with its own side effects. If that's the case, then before signing up for an antidepressant, you may want to read the book Side Effects: Death. By the way, I took a one month vacation last Spring from Avonex. I felt great, better than I had in a long time actually. No relapses either. The difference was like night and day. Even my friends which only see me once every week or so noticed a difference. Lastly, I recall that exercise has been found to be just as effective as antidepressants in several studies (sorry, no links right now).

i can't find much on rebif and nutrient depletion.. all i get for depletion and interaction info is: "none known" which apparently equates to "no one did the study yet"

i did find a side effect list:

•A blood disorder, such as anemia or low blood counts of any kind
•Liver disease, such as liver failure, cirrhosis, or hepatitis
•Depression or other mood disorders
•A seizure disorder or epilepsy
•Thyroid problems
•Any allergies, including allergies to food, dyes, or preservatives.

now this is just my limited and non-professional opinion, but in the literature available, all of those side effects can be linked to zinc (among other things but zinc is the stand-out)

i could link you up to studies if you're interested.

IMHO a serum zinc test would be informative.
