Has anyone been bothered by police for public intoxication?

The symptoms that most likely suggested it at the time were my cog-fog, vertigo, slurred speech and 'unnatural happiness'. The first three are direct symptoms, but the last one is usually just me trying to get people to stop feeling sorry for me.

This has happened twice now, and I've been wondering if anyone else has had similar problems? Does anybody have any suggestions?

I have been stopped at the entry to a club because I had obviously had too much to drink.

I have certainly had balance problems and will get curious stares. I walk my dog everyday and have a tendency to stumble about. The neighbors that don't know I have MS give me that "Oh, she's drunk" look. I used to be really self-conscious about it, now it doesn't phase me. I figure it's their problem!

Yeah... I'm thinking of just asking my doctor for a note to carry around with me, or maybe I'll get a tattoo that says "I HAVE MS!" on an easily noticeable part of me, or at least easily exposed part of me, heh. It's not so much the looks and stares; I'm naturally not one to care for my reputation, but it screws me up in university a lot. My professor once looked at me and said "I will not have you in my classroom in this condition!", and I was nearly thrown out until I stammered out "I'm [sic] have MS". That moment haunts me, hah! It also doesn't serve me to get thrown into the drunk tank as it can possibly damage my career choices down the line.

Makes me a blast at parties though!

I do have a medical ID that says I have MS, but there is so much ignorance about symptoms! A friend with MS lived in Chicago for a stint and unfortunately fell on the sidewalk and couldn't get up. I forgot how long she waited for help, but most people just walked around and ignored her thinking she was smashed.

I also have a handicap placard, which comes in handily especially during the warmer weather or on bad days. Oh, the stares from the obese women in their welfare Cadillacs!

I'm a blast at parties too- a cheap drunk to say the least!

Ah, cheap drunk, huh? I'm always on some amount of painkillers, so drinking seems irrelevant (and dangerous) to me. From Neurontin to Vicodin, I'm always somewhere on a high, and though they still leave me in a bit of pain, I'm active until my leg's less mobile. Even with the cane though, I'm still willing to break out the worst break-dancing moves ever. Who knows, maybe I'll get a really long extendable one, and I'll practice my pole-dancing moves to make some money outta my hospital beds :P
