when we had the roll in shower done i could still get out of the chair and shuffle to the shower chair and the toilet so we didn't get the bathroom door widened at that time but now i need to take the wheelchair right into the bathroom (more money)it was a very stupid decision not to do it at that time but i thought i would always be able to get to the shower and toilet but now it's just to much of a struggle, i guess what i am trying to say is if u have the chance prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Hear you, Rob-
We built a new house last year and it was hard, but we worked with the architect to make it handicap accessible...one story, roll in shower, wide doors. It was really weird to think about, but we were going to build it as a retirement/summer place before Jeff got his dx. Then the stuff hit the fan, and we redrew the house for his unknown future. I guess the timing was good.

You're right to give this advice, Robbie. It's hard to think about, but necessary.

Hi bob sorry if this is somethingyou've tried but you can get a narrow plastic chair with wheels, much narrower than a standaard wheel chair, that you can be wheeled througth the door in. I used to be pushed arouhnd in one during a hospitak stay. Maybe you should find one or maybe somebody else knows where to get one. I'm in the UK and the occupational therapist would provide one funded by the NHS,
