I MAY HAVE TO GO THROUGH A ROUND OF 3 DAY IV SOLUMEDROL SOON FOR OPTIC NEURITIS.

MY QUESTION IS, HAVE ANY OF YOU ACTUALLY WORKED WHILE BEING ON THIS STUFF? IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO IT AND FEEL OK?

I STARTED WORKING FULL TIME IN SEPTEMBER. I HAVE A LAID BACK JOB. NO OFFICE WORK. I AM FULLY ABLE EXCEPT FOR MY EYE ISSUE.

HAVE ANY OF YOU WORKED THROUGH TREATMENT?

I've got Solumedrol IV twice and I worked each day of the infusion both times. I had really geared myself up to feel "whacked out" based on horror stories, but I really didn't feel that bad on them. A little antsy, but able to maintain just fine.

My husband got a lot done his one time on IV solumedrol. He had tons of energy. He works at home, so he kept going in his office working while getting infused. He had more trouble sleeping, and food tasted a bit metallic. But it reduced his symptoms and let him walk again, so it was more than worth it to him.
Good luck with your infusion-

hi dv, i have never taken solumedrol but i wondered if you take any zinc? zinc is good for the eyes and a lack of it can cause optic neuropathy. ms patients typically have less zinc in their systems, with values in the low to mid teens. healthy controls have 18umol/L
when zinc is depleted, uric acid goes down. uric acid is another thing that's low in ms-ers (as in, ms average 194, versus 290 in healthy controls).
anyway, might be something to consider for the future, although if this problem has been with you for a long time it might be harder to deal with using nutrition.
