We have seen that we have quite a few people here that are in the Phase IIb Tovaxin Trial, but I haven't read of anyone who is in the Phase III "T-Cell Vaccination (Sheba Medical Center)".

I would expect that the Phase III trial would be bigger, and therefore there would be more of us in it. Anyone?

The only Sheba T-Cell Vaccine trial that I'm aware of (but not in) is the Israeli one that is looking at the rate of progression to second attack/clinically definitive MS-- to be elligible you need to have had your first attack within the previous three months I believe. This might make it harder to recruit subjects-- although it's pretty small to begin with. Are there other studies looking at this vaccine? That would be nice!

ok, did a search and found it http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00228228

It is in israel, and does have some limiting entry criteria:

* Positive Brain MRI: at least 4 focal lesions involving the white matter of 3 lesions if one is periventricular > 3mm diameter, each
* Negative pregnancy test and use of effective contraceptives for female patients who are sexually active.

I've gotten the idea that either they are very modest or their version of T Cell Vaccine isn't nearly as effective as we've been led to believe Tovaxin is.
I finally did a search, and found these results (PDF).

They dont look all that good compared to Tovaxin. But the thing that comes to mind with tovaxin is the report from people on the trial who are being given very suspiciously high EDSS scores for their baseline.

The PDF above also provides comments on MRI, which I cant say I have seen for Tovaxin. The other thing to note, is that these results are way back in 2004.

The report seems a lot more "scientific" than many tovaxin results I have managed to get my eyes on.

This PubMed reference also includes an email address.

The one thing that is becomming clear is that they are aiming their treatment at the early stages (point of diagnosis).
