What in the heck is going on besides the stock market sucking right now?

Evidently Opexa stocks are dropping?

Well it had dipped recently, but now it's back up:

Up 24% yesterday it seems.

I was going to say that I'm completely illiterate when it comes to the stock market but Opexa stocks dropping is something that I would consider defies logic.

24%? Even though I'm poor I could have taken out a loan to buy stocks and made a tidy sum despite paying the interest!

Bob,

Tovaxin stock has been hovering at or around 5 bucks a share. Just before Tysabri tanked, it was a little over 60 bucks a share. If this stuff works, now would be the time for you to start taking an interest in the stock market.

I think Tim eluded to September-ish when they release the findings the stock will explode.

My worry is I read somewhere they needed to maintain 5 or loose their rating.

I too am not too good with the stock market, but I'm still invested pretty heavily in OPXA. I was just curious if anyone had any idea.

Yesterday was a better day, and then some...right now is definitely the time to buy.

Sounds like it's time for me to take out a home equity loan.......before they repossess it!

I'm not so sure I'm going there. I may regret it, but I have to absolutely seperate my investments from my emotions. Although I must admit, to MY head it makes sense that this stuff should go nuts or explode due to a massive buyout or something, but we have yet to see how they will do when it comes time to mass market. That's why I agree with Tim that they will be gobbled up by someone with the capitol to set up a manufacturing process. I just set up processes for manufacturing steel components; I can't imagine the depth and complexity of what setting up a lab type process overseen by the FDA would be like. Not cheap I would imagine.

The President of Opexa has already stated that Tovaxin would cost about the same as the crabs but due to the time confines when shipping the blood and the vaccine they won't be able to make one huge factory to supply it for the world, as you could with a drug. Tovaxin is going to require multiple regional labs, all with the same quality control standards.

It seems that would take a while to set up and it seems that would be expensive.

I'm not getting into particulars, because I can't. I do know there are companies out there who specialize in only processing the drug you need. The also can help to supply financing help with these issues.

I assure you the money the insurance companies spend on the Crab drugs and all the companion (Baclofen, etc,) drugs that go with MS symptoms, the amount of money it would cost to produce the vaccine would be less more than likely. (Close but still less I would think)

It may even be advantageous for them to help in the production to save themselves money. Would you donate a couple of grand to get it? Would you then bust but to make sure other people could to?

I don't know. I know if you look at the other MS therapies and the past stock performances they do well and they only offer a 30% chance of it even working.

I almost mentioned that I didn't think that would keep Opexa from being profitable and I probably should have

I have no idea what the production costs would be in making Tovaxin but $20,000/per and then considering that many people who won't take crabs probably would take Tovaxin.....that's a big chunk of change!

That sounds logical--and as though they're ready to roll as soon as they get the cash infusion they'll need to launch Phase III.

I keep swinging back and forth when I try to guess about the cost. Zapping our own gunk shouldn't, to my of thinking, be as costly as developing a big whoppin' piece of chemistry--and other goodies to manage side effects of said heavy-duty drug.

Then again, Opexa has a lot of research outlay to recover. Heaven knows what sorts of tabs each of us lab rats is running up each month. So it's a guessing game.

I'll never forget the price-gouging that went on when they re-released Tysabri (I'd been 24 hours from first infusion when Ty got yanked off the market--can we say "temper tantrum"?).

Whatever happens, my curiosity is killing me.
