This is what I get for being gone so long! My final appointment is May 1 and from what I've been reading from the rest of y'all ahead of me, the blood draw might happen sometime before Christmas Eve.

I rather think the Opexa team could hire at least most of us on a temp basis... bet WE could get this wagon rolling up to speed!

Well, good news in our backwards kinda' way.... I just received the call from my study center that I do indeed make MRTC's and that everything is a "go" for procurement! Supposedly LifeBlood will be contacting me soon and the study center coordinator said that the procurement should take place "no later than the last week in April." My last IIb exam and MRTC test blood draw was March 20, so a grand total of 19 days to get the results and go ahead for procurement. As always, your milage may vary.

Really, there's no excuse for it. I'd probably have been a lot less steamed if we were in the HUGE Phase III chunk (that traditionally nets thousands of lab rats for those very important final tests) but since there are just 150 of us... plus the 18 or so Tim mentioned from Phase I, seems to me this procedure should be running like a Swiss watch at this point.

I think I'm feeling a little better about my temporary insanity that I developed waiting for my blood draw and extension drugs after watching the same thing happen to everyone else!

I'm still here and only slightly dastardly; just ask me . That was just to make myself feel better about the way I was "cyber going off" around Christmas. I re-read some of those posts and I was obviously temporarily insane and incapable of rational thought . Man, those were some serious rants I went off on. I didn't mean to imply "I got mine, now it's fun to watch others squirm", I was just trying to say "I understand! It drove me half nuts too!".

It's been one entire month since my final IIb visit and I have heard nothing about anything from anyone. Should I contact Opexa, my neurology clinic, or just sit back and shut up?

I would call AIN and talk with either Laura or Caroline. Feel free to let them know that you know that even though I'm a week behind you in our last IIb visit that I have been cleared for inclusion in the extension study and am currently waiting for LifeBlood to contact me about procurement. I would lean on them pretty hard to explain the delay and for them to call Opexa to find out your MRTC test results and get the procurement schedule underway. Maybe you should appeal to the business side of things and suggest that if they get on the ball and clear you for procurement that LifeBlood can siphon blood from both of us on the same day. I was told that my procurement should be scheduled no later than the last week in April.

I don't know if it had any effect on me getting results reasonably quickly but I did leave a number of daily messages on Shannon Inman's voice mailbox at Opexa in the week leading up to me finding out my MRTC results. She never returned my calls. I have no idea if this is a "squeaky wheel gets the grease" situation but it may be worth hitting things from both directions.
