Does anyone know the status of Hopkins' clinical trial for HiCy? It was my understanding that they were going to start a phase III trial of it some time early this year (as opposed to doing it off-label, as they did before). Are they currently recruiting, or do they have enough volunteers who tried to get it off-label? I haven't seen or read anything about it lately.

As far as I know if you have the active MRI, ad you send it to them, and you qualify for insurance, you can have the treatmet.

From what I have been told or heard they have never stopped doing it.

I called Hopkins last September, just to see if I could get some information on the treatment. I was told they were booked solid with people doing the treatment off-label, and they weren't accepting new patients for it. However, the person I spoke with told me they were planning to do a clinical trial sometime early this year, and that they were accepting applicants for that.

There are 2 hospitals in Chicago doing similar treatments.

Rush M S Center
Northwestern M S Center .. this one also uses your own stem cells as part of the treatment.
