Foot Strain

I have been using the Walkaide for the past several weeks with success, i.e., feeling supported enough to walk without a cane for about 1/4 mile on an even surface. However, the other day I walked in soft shoes (not sneakers as used previously) on an uneven country road for about the same distance, and I seem to have strained my foot (above ankle and around prominent outer bone on the foot that drops). Since then, wearing my Walkaide still exacerbates the pain (going on 4 days) , so I haven't been wearing its. The area's still sore, and I think I'll wait till it's completely healed before resuming the Walkaide.

As I said the Walkaide had been working well for me, and with the addition of occasional yoga, weights and PT, I was feeling pretty optimistic that it was worth the cost (not covered by insurance).

1) Has anyone else experienced this kind of foot strain, taken a break for recovery and then been able to resumed the Walkaide?

2) Also, Hanger has submitted to my insurance company twice now and both times the request for payment was denied. Has anyone received approval after 2 denials?

Thanks.
