I have not dealt with Poland, but I do think it cheeky to ask for money in advance and to tell you where to stay. I would insist on paying when I was there, if I were you.

Unless someone can verify this, it sounds all too familiar to the scams I get sometimes on the internet...I would NEVER send money in advance per this message. I am not sorry to be suspicious or skeptical as to the authenticity of this entry.

Hi INONU, you dont have to be suspisious abut this money issue. The rules have just changed. There was discussion on this topic also on Polish forums. Polish people were also asked to pay in advance (wire transfer to the bank accout) and after the treatment they either had to pay more (for instance if more stents were inserted) or they were getting some money back if it was just balooning.

Yesterday, I was in Katowice for my first examination doppler-color USG and I was asking about it at the reception in Euromedic clinic so it is not a scum.

I dont know why those rules changed, maybe there were some cases where it turned out after procedure that people didnt have the money to pay for it. I realy dont know what is the reason behind it.

Of course u dont have to believe me since I just created my account and this is my first post on this forum but believe me I mean no harm to anybody. It would be even better for me if people think it is a scum and will stop paying, maybe I would be able to skip some places in the huge line and get my tretment earlier ;-)

Wish u luck in your journey and if u have any questions concerning Poland I would be more then happy to answer.

From what I have heard, mila is right. No scam this time, though being critical is never a failure.

Someone also mentioned they have decided to organise accommodation and transportation to prevent delay in their schedules. I think that's ok, compared to a hospital where you have no choice either... I guess that they have chosen a hotel nearby, so everything is easier, they can get there quickly if needed, and the staff will be accustomed to MS patients.

I have just returned from Katowice where I had the test and treatment (angioplasty on right Jug and azygous)....I received a similar email regarding costs, and everything was genuine....for me, coming from Vancouver, it was helpful to have the transportation included in the price, as previously it seemed difficult finding by yourself the right location for the tests, especially the location for the MRV....Marek and Marta are very helpful....Marek also pointed out that they are inundated w/ emails...which sometimes question why no response has been sent for an email sent an hour earlier...so sending only essential emails gives them the chance to organize better

Hi Richard

I hope you are well and the trip was a success :)

I am now waiting for the e-mail to tell me how to pay and hopefully the appointment times.I still feel a little uneasy about paying in advance.i understand why but uneasy.

Yes it does take time but I'm getting used to being patient.

Pam :)

"Hi mila77,

Hi Megi,

Sorry that it took me so long but here are liks to Polish forum where we talked about making payments in advance. I pasted only 2 links because thread has over 100 pages now and there is no search tool so I had to look for those information page by page :-(

Link below - WojtaZ71 is talking about making payment in advance (by the way he is after procedure now and evejrything went according to plan)
http://stwardnieniesmrozsiane.ok1.pl/vi ... start=1275

And here is discussion on how much money they will give you back in case there is no procedure (just doppler, MRV and flebography) but I guess prices might be slightly different for Polish as most people here dont need accomodation and transport arranged by Euromedic
