Zivadinov Hamilton presentation

On slide 25 of Zivadinov's Hamilton presentation, he describes the different study groups. Under the MS group he has listed 500 RRMS, 300 SPMS, 50 PPMS, and 50 NMO.

So is NMO considered a sub-group of MS? I thought it was different, one of the differential dx'es of MS-- they don't take the CRAB meds and instead use intense immune suppression such as Imuran, etc. Am I mistaken, or is there some reason that they would be included in the CDMS group?

If i had to guess i d say that they included NMO to find out if is just another way of the immune system to react to ccsvi. Can you imagine how huge it would be to link other demyelinating diseases to ccsvi?

I would say that they are trying to prevent critics, making some kind of devil's advocate game. The whole trial rules are design so that they get lower success than what they should get. Things like to consider CIS inside the MS group (which it seems they did) are not normal in any trial. Let alone NMO.

By the way, aren't these numbers too high? It was expected that the whole trial would have around 1000 people among all the groups, and here we have 900 with MS and variants. Where are the OND and controls?
