So, where was all this blood coming from? Was it from a bypass of the J3 occlusion through posterior neck veins? Or was there an element of reflux from lower parts of the vertebral plexus (since there was a problem in the azygos)?
edit: was the Δ value of the US normal?

There was a very large pharyngeal vein as you could see from the venogram i showed. it probablyhad anastomoses with other veins, some of which might have been the dural sinuses and emissary veins at the skull base.
the delta was normal.

sharon richardson told me last night that patients often forget that doctors can get sick too. So this is a reminder. I am off to the ER in a few minutes and will not be answering any questions for a few days, i suspect.
