Vascular Interventionist, Dr. Shakir Hasain in 4+ hr. used the ballon to corrrect the left jugular that was just with in Dr. Zamboni's procedure's protocol. Further investigation showed the Azygos to have a blockage of 70%. A stent was put here and it sits between the heart and the spimal cord. I spent that night in I.C.U. and most of the next day, which all went by in a blink of an eye!
Changes noticed the next day. No brain forg, the "cap" of numbness that I'd had for years was gone.
I felt alert and present, also for the first time in years.
I could do the "finger to nose while eyes closed test, accurately & quickly.
My voice was stronger, more volume and no "marble mouth.
Most importantly, night time thigh spasm that kept me up 3 out of 5 nights has stopped or diminished to where an additional 2 baclofen will stop it!
Because of the leg spasms the procedure was done while under a general.

Hearther is the correct person to answer this but I think she is the same person who has earlier put info that she is undergoing procedure at max healthcare, delhi. The same info came out 3 weeks ago in facebook. I dont think she is an Indian.

Heather, the cost of the procedure has been going up it seems since there ae many wanting to do and few to do the procedure. If you can put the info about the cost involved, it would help a lot, especially to the foreigners ...

Heather here...I had the surgery almost 4 weeks ago in New Delhi, India. I am sure that the cost will start to escalate as the demand grows however I initially was quoted $9,000 u.s. however do to the extra surgery time 4+ hrs. when 1 hr. is the expectd time,.The final bill was an additional 30,000 rupees or $150. Oh, that included the anethetist, my spasms were so severe that I didn't want to be awake during and the additional night in I.C.U. until I was fully alert and asking to go back to my room.

My husband contacted I.A.G. Solutions where Madeline Pitani set everything in place but the flight, in place. Madeline was in constant contact via e'mail, the entire time.
In addition to the hospital/surgery, I spent an additional week at a guest house relatively near by.This was at a cost of $100/day which included meals for both me and my husband. Laundry was extra.

After hearing Dr.Zamboni talk about his procedure in the fall on CTV's W5, y huband began researching where the procedure could be done. I was shocked and disappointed at how quickly the powers in North America shut down any possibility of having the procedure in the forseeable future.
I had a small inheritance available to me in the exact amount of the procedre in India and as the majority of m.s. patients seen by Dr. Z. had a severe stenosis, I decided to travel without having the testing first.

This may not have been wise as the Dr. had refused three prior requests due to the patient not meeting the "Zambonni"protocol i.e. having more than 55%blockage and less than total blockage.

That is awesome!! What was your edss Score? What type of MS have you been dianosed with? When were you diagnosed? How old are you? I know these are alot of questions but the excitment gets the better of us.
