Eye Exam

Folks, I had a full eye exam at the optometrist's last week. He was very interested in my upcoming trip to Poland and to hear that eye examinations were an integral part of the process. Though I have not had any great eyesight problems (my small eyesight deterioration is probably just because I'm getting older), he is going to give me a full set of test results to take with me to Katowice, in case they want to compare them to the eye tests that will be given by the Euromedic Clinic. By the way, can anyone give me a list of the tests that are being done at the clinic?

Ted,

In Poland, they do a short chart vision screening, a comprehensive peripheral vision screening, and a comprehensive Optic Nerve and Glaucoma screening.

They will give you copies of all of the computerized results; one set for the hospital and one for your own use.

Best to you,
Katie41

It is great waking up and feeling great, I have not noticed any further improvements today but I definitely do not feel any worse.

The weather back in Scotland would make you feel down though, were back to the wind and rain but that is not a big thing anymore.

I woke up and did some excersize this morning, only mild as I don't want to push myself to fast and to hard. I did notice the weakness in my left side but I will give it time.

Best Regards to everyone.

Thanks Badger for your updates! I woke up and feel like in a carroussel today. Guess because have not been to Katowice yet, but woke up in Germany after a long travel... Thanks for reporting about your improvements - that's all very encouraging! 8) The weather the same over here...in Italy it's already sunny, but once you pass the Gotthard tunnel towards Switzerland rain, rain, rain...

[quote="adamt"]Hi Barry,

Thats great the procedure was a duccess, im very happy for you!
And to see these improvements just makes this treatment even better/

I am due to have mine in May.

Only my lower body is affected by MS - Mobility - legs stregth/balance + stiffness (when first standing), and Bladder - urgency/frequency

So im guessing maybe i just have Azygous stenosis as it s just my lower body movement thats affected.

Hi there
My symptons are the same as yours but my Azygous vein was fine! It was the left jugular and a slight stenosis in the right jugular. So even this isnt cut and dried??

Very good.

I spoke with Marek on my journey to the airport and he was saying that the clinic will be booked until the end of 2014 pretty soon.

Lets hope more new hospitals are opened up soon.

Hi Badger,

My husband and I met you on our last day in the restaurant at breakfast. I've been so anxious to hear about your experience in Katowice. So glad you
are noticing improvements. Same for my husband, but not everyday is perfect like the days right after the procedure. Much better though. I think it's going to take time before we noticed what things will be permanent, but still so much more hope now.

Is Tim doing well? We also met Katie41 and have been following her progress but haven't heard about Tim. Have you had any trouble with the blood thinner? We've been reading that it's important to have blood monitored weekly or monthly - it's called at PT/INR test, which is really important. The number needs to be within a certain range. They didn't tell us anything about this in Poland - did you hear anything?

I miss Poland and our week there - memories to last a lifetime!

We are so happy for you & your wife,
Fraser

Yes can assure you that also more Italians will come to book...some of the lists in Italy are only empty promises. As only limited to research on a VERY small amount of people. Even if doppler would be preformed the intervention will not be possible for majority before research is finalised (and what means finalised?!). And who realises will act - even to wait for 2014...
