Winnipeg Vascular & Endovascular Symposium April 22 to 24

Have had a look at the agenda to see if anything looks pertinent to CCSVI in case anyone in Winnipeg has the opportunity to attend this, to possibly ask some pertinent questions on behalf of those of us seeking screening and treatment in Canada. Seems that very few minutes might be dedicated to CCSVI related things, but these events can be useful for lobbying and getting a chance to ask some direct questions about policy and practice to speakers.

Have cut and pasted the very small sections which may be of interest. I tried to include more context and to retype the relevant bits in bold, but am still inept at posting and word processing. Perhaps if you are interested you can go to the website and check it out in context. Also if you are able to post a link to the site it might be helpful to others.

thanks Johnson for the link!
I looked up the name of the neurologist who will be speaking about the neurologist's perspective. It is Dr. Cossoy. A neurologist from the Winnipeg MS Clinic. I hope he is better informed on the matter than he was when he spoke at a CCSVI information session in Winnipeg on Dec. 14th, 2009. (just reviewed the presentation) My impression was that he was disrespectful in his demeanor toward Dr. Zamboni's work and that he was engaged in fear mongering. Just my opinion.

I wrote to the doctor who is going to speak about management of veinous malformations at the Winnipeg Vascular and Endovascular Symposium. He said he had not planned on it, but could do so!

Will anyone be able to attend? Wish I could be there to ask questions and talk to him.

Here is the exchange.

Hello Dr. Kubelik:

I noted that you will be speaking In Winnipeg at the Vascular & Endovascular Symposium in April on the management of vascular malformations. I am writing to ask if you will be including management of Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency (CCSVI) in your speech.

Name removed for post

Sorry for the delay,

I wasn't planning to but I could include it.
