Here is the new gem from our friend:

"The MS Society and 99.9999% of doctors know that Zamboni's "CCSVI" and "liberation" treatment is junk science. They make noises about doing trials of it in order not to alienate hysterical MS patients convinced that a cure is being denied them, and not to jeopardize donations to the society.

As a matter of fact, NO ONE really knows the validity of CCSVI and MS yet, one way or the other. Not Colin Rose or anybody. Dr Zamboni even claims his finidings are preliminary. I certainly don't know. Mr Rose just thinks he is superior in his disdain for those who advocate for more research for CCSVI. He sees himself as a lone holder of the truth who stands out from the smelly crazy masses. Socrates said the he (Socrates himself) was the wisest man (as indicated by the Delphic Oracle) because he knows that he DOES NOT know anything. Every question is up for grabs.

My neuro who is very very skeptical and was dead set against the idea of CCSVI being related to MS in any way wrote me an e-mail stating that at the very least there is a correlation between MS progression and CCSVI.
Not necessarily causation but a risk factor associated with MS that MUST be acknowledged.

He often refers to Hippocratic oath but does not mind bad mouthing Dr. Zamboni. He also does not mind bad mouthing the whole IV community.
One sample
"Why would anyone be impressed that a group of varicose vein surgeons has decided to elevate their status from cosmeticians to experts in neurology?"

University that gave him the Dr degree should hang its head in shame ...

Man, that's typical of the arrogant, pompous, condescending nature of being a neuro... It must be part of their pre-req to become one...

HEY

He's not...

He's not even a neuro... he's a neuro wannabe. Besides, not all neuros are like that (arrogant etc) - perhaps not even many - though it does seem that quite a few on TiMS have had bad experiences with them.

I agree, I hate to cast judgment on the whole because of the few, I assume... But, I haven't ran into too many that don't display this type of sad and childish behavior.

I certainly hope I'm wrong, but I have yet to meet one that does dispel this myth.

I suggest to any of my fellow patients who feels like having some time for rubish to post my blog address in reply to Rose wherever possible. I spent 20 minutes of my life to write it!!! Can you imagine?

Costume, I posted this thread just for fun. My advice is not to take him seriously. I mean no one does, otherwise he would not take pains to visit every decent place and leave his comments. A capable person is also noticed, he does not have to shout to make his point ... Just read his comments and have fun. He is a nice entertainer in circus called CCSVI ...

Yes, exactly ozarkcanoer, also Simka said it clearly and very calm in the Q&A at False Creek in March - I liked that:

Simka: "This topic is very new... the only published paper comes from Italy, and Italian doctors observed MS patients for 1.5 years after vascular procedure and they found improvements in most of the patients. However this period is rather short and we do not know what will happen after 5 or 10 years. So we cannot say for sure that it might be a treatment in the long-term, maybe yes, maybe not."
Q: "But in medicine don't you have to prove something before you start using it on patients?"
Simka: "Yes but to prove sthg you should do sthg first. And then have results." 8)

Yes, costumenastional, and I in particular liked Simkas calm, satisfied, convinced, modest smile to himself when he gave this answer :)
