Wondering of anyone has gotten referred to have the scan by a doc other than a neuro and GU has accepted it? What if a patient's neuro isn't open to it like a GP might be?

I called Georgetown and was told that any GP could order this procedure. I have not decided to try and go there because I got a referral from my GP to go to a local IR. I doubt he has a clue what to look for but it's a start. You can now call Boston Medical to look into testing. The info is in one of the Topics in here.

As of last week, Georgetown was only booked to do scans through April. They were surprised that so few people had called.

Is Georgetown accepting patients for TESTING AND TREATMENT? Or just testing?

I called last month but have not heard from them.

To my knowledge they are only testing now, but maybe gearing up for a study?

I think they lose people with the bolded "referral from neuro required" verbiage on their website, they should change "neuro" to "physician."

The University of Buffalo is doing scans without a Rx from a doctor. Maybe that's closer for some folks than Georgetown in DC.

Even though Georgetown isn't as thorough as BNAC or False Creek it is only $400.00. If I lived nearby I would give it a shot for $400.

As far as I know, only treating. But if you go to their site it says "this may or maynot lead to treatment..." They leave it pretty open.

Can you post the site that explains their procedure, please.

Thanks.

The ultrasound tech at Georgetown received specific training in doing the ultrasound and looking for the CCSVI related issues. I would go to someone like her rather than just any ultrasound tech.
