Recently, now and then I have been hearing the blood pumping in my ear when I am sleeping on one side but not when im on my back. Of course im lying there thinking, is this ccsvi? So was quite interested to read this post.

I expect it is probably quite common in the general population, but you never know.

If I ever get scanned, I will find out I suppose.

Interesting

Some of the stories going around the group of MSers in our discussions here in Katowice (while waiting for liberation or waiting to go back home) was about people who heard the sound of their hearts pumping until they were liberated. I can't remember if it actually came from someone sitting at the table, or if they were referring to someone's story on TiMS, but it seemed to me they were speaking of a personal experience.

I get the pumping in my ear. I am also hard of hearing and wear hearing aids, but when these are out at night and I lie on my side I can hear my pulse.

If I am feeling anxious for any reason then the sound is louder.

I am off to Poland next week and will be keeping an eye on any changes.

Mags,

I was told by neuro (apply BS filter as required) that my own hearing loss is likely in the brain stem. I'm not sure how he came to that conclusion, but it is heartening, as neurons have been observed to regenerate in the white matter. Surprisingly, cannabinols are demonstrated to facilitate such neurogenesis.

Alan McG reports that his hearing improved dramatically after his procedure. I look forward to the possibility of hearing in stereo again. Good Luck!

Thanks Johnson,

Trying not to get my hopes up too much. But I will be booking a hearing test when I come back to see if there is any 'scientific' difference... can't possibly rely on my own subjective experience now can I :)

Another option maybe? :)

Thanks again, and good luck to you too.
