As I'm comming up to my operation date soon, only 10 days to go
I seriously have to think about what option to go for, and I am defentley leaning towards stents, so far.
My kids climb on me. I spend my time on the setee, and they just walk on me, climb on me, jump on me. Probably because I'm not very active with them, this is what we do. But can it harm the stents?
What about massages? I see my physio twice a week, and she rubs my back and neck for half an hour. Can that harm he stents, crush them, dislocate them at all?
Will I have to be very careful short term or maybe even always? What about car seatbelts and emergency stops if there is stents in azoygus veien?
Anyone of you stented people out there that know anything about that?

Discuss with Dr. first off, this is very important question, as most stented areas are "buried", this is not. I asked this specific question to Dr. Dake, insofar as I am required to wear a safety harness at work, sometimes all day, and they move around plenty and sometimes half strangle you, plus the obvious as you mention, playing with kids and what not.

Myself, without having any specific on this post op, it just seemed natural to avoid anything that manipulated the neck from the outside until those stents got good and implanted into the vein walls which should hold them securely. Dr. D has stents in his office one can check out, perhaps your Dr. will too, but the stents are like soft and springy but strong at the same time. Very flexible. For some reason I never really checked them out when in there the previous couple of times, but this time I did.

I've played with my kids plenty since the op, both girls are pretty rowdy and like to grab my neck but it makes me just a tad nervous, slightly protective of the area is all, but it doesn't hurt or anything it's just that x factor at play.

I know that doesn't cinch it up for you, but those are still excellent questions to ask!!!!!!!!

You asked about stents in the azygous but I don't think doctors are putting stents in the azygous, only the jugulars.

I have a stent in high jugular right and a stent in azygos so that is mid right chest level with my arm pit.
I haven't had any instructions about massage, but I didn't ask.
I know I am NOT going to risk anything for my beloved stents. I am sure they are protected/ deep but not worth the worry to me.
but if you have them placed your MD will tell you where they are and what to avoid.
The seat belt harness is close to my azygos, but not a problem.
