Does anyone know what the position is regarding aftercare for Americans if needed, when returning back from liberation treatment in Europe?

My daughter is scheduled for June treatment in Poland but I am concerned about her aftercare in the event of any problems when she returns. Will she be denied cover by her insurance carrier for treatment if needed? who would she see if she has no vascular doctor here and would they treat her in US since she has had surgery in Europe?

If anyone has any feedback I would be most grateful.

Will be stalking this thread because this what greatly worries me too.

I am trying to track down "Medical Complications Insurance" - for those in the same row boat as us. My understanding is that it covers you for 6 months post-procedure. I have no idea if this would cover return costs to the point of treatment, but that only seems reasonable.

I hope to know more this week.

My other concern is that if something were to happen whilst overseas not necessarily related to liberation treatment ( hey you never know) would our insurance company cover that? Probably not which is also a worry.

We have to make a decision for my daughter to go to Poland in June and I am agonizing over it. That coupled with her starting Tysabri this week (she has been off meds for three months) which adds another issue re side effects and what is actually working......

Johnson can you get insurance to travel with a pre existing condition like MS and given that you are having treatment overseas? Really interested in what you are looking into.
