Is anyone booked into Costa Rica to be liberated? My dad has a tentative date of July 5th and I'm just wondering if anyone else is going there?

I am thinking about it, just waiting to get the cost and see if I can afford it.

Can you please forward information on where the treatment is being preformed?

I've looked into Poland, Bulgaria and Scotland (wait lists).

I would totally consider Costa Rica (heck...bet my husband would join me then.... )

Thanks Chrystal!

I contacted them. Did you fill out the Registration form?

Great, Villagemaid! Please keep us posted, okay?

I didn't contact them as I'm still hoping to have the testing and treatment somewhere closer (live in Toronto, Ontario). I'm not good on flights (get claustrophobic).

I'm waiting to hear back from the Albany facility that has gone public with their website. I left a message on their voice mail last Friday and it says to give them 3 days to reply. I will phone them by Thursday if I don't hear back.

Take care and keep well!

Apparently there is a group of 60 people going over June and July! At intervals!

That's wonderful! Have you been given a date yet?

I'm just going to put this out there...
I'm concerned that the surgeon, Dr Marciel Fallas, is trained in peripheral vascular surgery--this means the legs. I would want to know how many endovascular procedures he has performed around the heart and neck....taking a catheter up thru your heart is much different than treating varicose veins.
Please...just think about it. Ask questions. Make sure this doctor knows everything, and make sure you know everything about his expertise...how many venous angioplasties of the neck has he done? I say this out of concern.

Pricing for Costa Rica will be like Poland, at least thats what Passport Medical told me, so 10k USD plus hotel and flight.

Thank you for that bit of advice cheerleader - it makes me think twice.

I am going to talk to Passport Medical tomorrow to find out more. I have not booked ANYTHING yet.

FYI:

"While cardiovascular surgeons treat disorders that affect the heart and its blood vessels specifically, peripheral vascular surgeons treat conditions that affect the rest of the circulatory system. Included among these conditions are the following:
•Arteriosclerosis, in which the artery walls become abnormally thickened or hardened

•Arterial occlusion and embolism, in which undissolved material in the bloodstream (such as clumps of clotted blood or tissue fragments) blocks the blood flow in the artery, causing a loss of blood to tissue beyond the blockage

•Carotid occlusive disease, in which the carotid arteries (the arteries in the neck that supply the brain with blood) become blocked

•Aortic or femoral artery occlusive disease, in which the aorta (the main artery going through the chest and abdomen) or one of the femoral arteries (the main arteries that carry blood to the legs) becomes blocked

•Pulmonary embolism, a condition in which blood clots travel to the lungsSpecialists in peripheral vascular diseases can be internists with extensive cardiovascular training. For the most part, however, they are surgeons.

I have to agree with Cheer. Mexico and Costa Rica would not be an option for me. I have been to both places too many times. CCSVI will be acceptable here in the US, before it is done accurately in Mexico or Costa Rica. That's just my opinion.
