Since I will be going to Poland at the end of June, I had a few questions for those who have already been. Do they accept all credit cards, especially Mastercard and American Express. Is it better to take travellers cheques in their currency (PLN) ??? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sue

From what I've heard, they do NOT like travelers cheques. I was told specifically by some polish friends of the family to to use credit cards or carry zlotys.

I will see you there, I'm over on 22nd June.
I've read people's post's all year saying I'm going next week next month etc.
I find it hard to believe I'm the one writing it now. It's so exciting I just hope I don't explode before I get there.

Sue,

No way, dont take cheques. They are useless here in Poland we jumped the era of cheques because during communism there was no real banking here and after communism it was time for "plastic cards". So most of shop assistants didn't see a checque in their life (at least I didn't).
Credit cards / debit cards are commonly used here. No problem wit that.
