I heard of a case that goes like this.

This fellow went to Poland, a last ditch effort, as his neuro wanted to put him on a full suite fo Chemo to try and stop his MS which was out of control completely. He was going down fast.

The Doctors in Poland did the liberation treatment on. one of his IJV was squished flat and the opened it up and got his blood flowing.

He has gone in one week from going down into the abyss, to starting to jog. One week.

When I talked to him and asked when his MS started, he said that about 5 years ago he got hit in the side of the throat by a hockey puck as he tended goal. It knocked him out and then a couple of years later his MS staarted

When he asked the doctors which side the did the liberation on, it was exactly where he had been hit by the puck.

This tells me that the stenosis of veins may not alwasy be congenital in origin.

My 'MS' started the day after I had spent the night not sleeping, trying to use a wooden couch-arm as a pillow. My weight (then considerable) was on my neck. I had a numb pinkie after that, which I still have. Does that make me PPMS?

That is just about verbatim the circumtstances for my first exacerbation. I worked all night.. slept between two chairs with my neck bent. Started getting pins and needles and numbness the next day. had a complete bout about two days later.

Wow, me too. After a real tough workout, I had a a tingle in my left arm. Within a week it spread to my feet. Hmm.

Mine came after an operation that caused me to wake up gasping for air with an epidural that didn't wear off for 3 days (who knows what else happened to me in that op) Whiplash car accident made it worse.

About 6 months after varicose vein surgery, bilateral legs, my first "attack" happened in my legs. I'm sure V. Veins are an indication of venous insufficiency. There's got to be "other" triggers along with the congenital aspect. They HAVE identified the chromosome location for venous disease:
"Genetic research proved in August ,2009 that people with MS have a defective chromosome 6p21.32 venous disease. It was only released to the public on April 28,2010, after the Annual Neurological meeting in Toronto, Canada."
It seems that the Cause of this disease/congenital condition/result of trauma is-proving to be very complicated.

My daughter's MS started after severe brain trauma and neck and back injury from being hit by a car. She had no prior symptoms and was complaining of leg weakness shortly after her accident and diagnosed a year later.
Yes I definitely think in her case it was injury related.

all 3 of my episodes were preceded by neck injuries - not major ones, but after some time with the chiro I found significant relief.

WOW... that is so interesting!

i had a very bad fall that stoved the r. side of my body and jerked neck badly. my symptoms started about a wk. later. had absolutely no symptoms before.
