medication contraindications prior to CCSVI treatment

I have searched for posts regarding meds which should be stopped prior to having CCSVI treatment, but could not find any. I thought I'd read something about not being on prednisone before undergoing liberation treatment, but cannot find that topic after searching for 3 days.

I'm sorry if this has been discussed with regard to CCSVI before, but I can't seem to locate anything on the topic.

I'm not referring to the DMMs, but to others Rx meds such as prednisone, meds for migraines, neuropathic pain, etc.

I also wonder if there are any any vitamins or supplements such as Fish Oil or Vit C, Vit E, a multi with Vit K in it, etc which should not be taken in the days/weeks or months prior to treatment.

I am going to be tested for CCSVI and if,or when, blockages are found, I hope to be able to have treatment scheduled asap, and don't want to start any meds that could be contraiindicated or delay my becoming liberated.

Thank you for pointing out any links or dates where this topic may already be addressed.

Because of the use of anticoagulant blood thinning drugs after treatment, patients cannot be on any NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories) for at least a week before treatment.

I rely on powerful anti-inflammatories to keep my avascular necrosis (a progressive deterioration of the bones in the joints caused by corticosteroid treatment) under control, and had to stop taking them prior to treatment, and until I was taken off Coumadin about four weeks after treatment. The cessation of the anti-inflammatories caused much agony in my joints, and now even after several months being back on the anti-inflammatories, my pain level is still noticeably increased.

Not sure of other contraindications, and not sure of other blood thinning compounds other than Coumadin (warfarin)...

I would guess along the anti-coagulants, Vitamin-K would also be out (it basically says so on my pack)

As for the steroids, Dr Zamboni actually tested (and I guess treated) people who were either on steroids or had recently received steroid treatments (can not remember which now).

But this is a question I will be asking my treating Dr, as I take pulsed oral steroids.

I was advised by Dr. Simka to continue with my regimen of 5-10 grams/day fish oils, 800-1200 IU/day Vit. E8, ECGC, 10-15,000 IU/day Vit. D3, Pycnoginol, etc. I did cut down on leafy greens because of the Vit. K. If you have just balloon treatment there are 7 days of Fraxiparine (anti-coagulant, blood thinner developed for Deep Vein Thrombosis in the legs) @ 0.6 ml/day. DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL for several weeks to a month after any treatment/blood thinners.
