Actually according to the NMSS this study will be lead by
Dr. Fiona Evanne Costello, MD, FRCP

The technologists and radiologists who interpret all scans will be blinded as to the clinical status of the participants."

Okay, but will the technologists and radiologists actually go to Italy and learn the ultrasound techniques being utilized by the Italian group?

It's a cartel and they haven't been trained. Saskatchewan and UBC
techs have as well as McMaster and some private clinic sonographers.
That's it.

Why the biggest naysayers got crucial funding is beyond belief.
McMaster and many other
centres need alot of support and really support CCSVI.

There are actually amazing neuroscientists at that institute but unfortunately none of them are named above.

Hmm, I'm not sure if we are all talking about the same study as this is the list of researchers I found on NMSS write up.

I think these folk are all neuroimagers, but I'm not sure if that is any better these days.

They are not trained in CCSVI at all. The concern is hugh because
the results will probably be something akin to the last 2 or 3 trials not able
to reproduce Dr Zamboni's finding. They have not travelled to
Italy. They don't have one tech trained. I can tell you that because
I know the person that runs the sonography lab and we have
spoken at length about CCSVI.

Dr McDonald has gone to Italy two times with techs. As well, has
just returned from Bulgaria where he even made time to visit
with many of the patients just liberated.

Poor results will only mean alot more amunition for the
doubters unless this can be done correctly.

I'm with the folks that have lost faith and measures are being
taken to steer this important research away from such incompetence.

In fact a brand new society has been formed and the announcements
just starting to roll out.

It will be very well done I am sure. The MSSC has forced
this card.

Agreed, I have been very impressed and happy to see Dr McDonald's efforts on this issue.

I'm also happy to see UBC is going to make some efforts to look at venous imaging.

In the intrest of saving time required to reinvent the wheel (as it were), I do wish there was some way to encourage more doctors/researchers to take their techs to Italy, learn the proticol and then come home and study it.

Maybe we need a letter writing campaign urging this
