CD copies of scans should now be organised for the beginning of August.

I've been told Emma's scans will be sent to me int he correct format on 1st August once the Sonographer returns from holiday.

It looks like there was some software missing from the processing side (would not have effected the scans - just the conversion of them to readable files), this has now been corrected.

Today we recieved a correctly formatted DVD containing all the scans that took place during Emma's visit.

Being untrained in these things none of it makes any sense to me whatsoever, but it feels wholly better that "Something" has arrived....strange really isn't it.

Along with the DVD came a letter of which the final paragraph was:-

"We will shortly be in touch with regards to the second stage of treatment, as soon as we are in a position to do so."

CCSVI screening is now in full swing at the Essential Health Clinic in Glasgow and we are making significant progress towards carrying out the first intervention procedures for CCSVI in the UK.
We now have two new potential providers; one in England and one in Scotland. We have approached several private hospitals regarding starting CCSVI treatment and hope to have agreement to commence treatment in the next 2-3 weeks.

For those who have had a positive scan at our clinic, we will be in touch as soon as we have definite dates for procedures to start.

CCSVI and the way forward

We have also finalised plans for our CCSVI conference in Glasgow on the 29th/30th October. The first day will be for clinicians only and will be a great opportunity to try and work on an international consensus on how best to move forward with this exciting new area of medicine

I was registered on the waiting list with ehc, but an appointment in Poland came up first. Beforehand, I had already worked out that going to Poland would work out much cheper for me - cheap flights from home town, less nights in hotel to pay for, cheaper to eat/drink in Poland, less time off work for me AND my husband, and of course only one trip. There was someone in our group who had had Doppler with EHC but didn't want to wait and decided to 'cut their losses' - they were expecting to have the treatment in Scotland until they got there.
I have to say, they have really got their act together in Poland. No need to worry about directions - they meet you at the airport. Day 1 is spent with preliminaries - eye test, neurologist consultation & MRI scan. Day 2 is doppler, then venogram & treatment if appropriate. Day 3 Follow up. Simples!
The venogram is done at the same time as treatment.

p.s. My DVDs work on my computer without any problem.

I completely understand the choice to go to Poland. There's a lot of upside there, none more so than the fact they've performed this procudure a number of times and have doubtless mastered the nuances.

With EHC we are at the beginning, but Emma is simply not comfortable travelling to Poland for treatment and wants to wait for a UK procedure.

We'll only know how wise that decision was after the event.

Yes, of-course. It has always got to be a personal choice. I would proobably have preferred to wait for Scotland, but my symptoms have been progressing fairly rapidly recently, and at my age .... Well I haven't got time to wait for the 'research'.

I have only gratitude, admiration and encouragement for everyone who is offering this procedure. Poland was coming up to its 600th procedure while we were there. Good luck with your development.
