Thanks guys, for your contributions. Cece, we'll keep your predictions in mind!

Still, we are all kind of guessing about some important details of the trail, especialy how it is made 'double blind'. And that is exactly my question from the start of this thread.

Isn't their any way to find out about the details? Directly from the scource? Buffalo? Has anyone got connections? Their website doesn't provide the detailed information we need..

The quest continues...

YES !! THE SCOURCE !! Dr. Siddiqui hemself is explaining...

part 2 of the video
http://www.wkbw.com/programming/am-buff ... 22949.html

In this video, the docters, perfoming the trial, are explaining how it´s done. At the end, there is a caller, who asks my question.

The answer is that patients are conscious during the whole procedure!

Now, lets hope they can act as well as operate! On this video they are doing good !

Source of their informatie was probably: http://www.ubns.com/

If I were a patient, well informed about the trail, knowing there is a 50/50% chance I'm not really operated upon, how would I be in the operating 'theater'?

I'm almost shure I would know if it was for real or not. Docters are no actors... (as actors are no docters..)

I'm not blind/'blind' (because I'm concious and not a fool, I want to know if I am getting 'the real thing'), so the trail is not double-blind anymore, when I am alert.

So, the question remains... how do they do it..? How can they fool me, while I am awake?

Any ideas?

No ideas? Come on..

Maybe it is the sedative they get during treatment? A drug that makes you less alert? Stops you from asking the 'wrong' questions? Stuff that effects your memory?

He did mention participants getting a sedative. He didn't mention witch one...

Midazolam (an amnesiac and a sedative - called 'the twilight drug' by my dentist) ?

angio feels like your ears popping under water. It's easy to tell if they inflate the balloon. Still this has been a long time coming so don't tell.

even if you have blindfold and earplugs it feels like your ears just popped in your neck.

With Midazolam you will not remember having had that sensation..

Anyone here know if the next 20 have been tested/treated? I'm very interested to learn how things are going.

Anyone know of the results from the first 30 patients treated at Buffalo. I read somewhere it was in the peer review stage.
