I think if this was about the Saskatoon trial, they would have mentioned it. They definitely knew about it because it was in their response letter to me.
I have high hopes that they're referring to treatment trials.

The announcement refers to human treatment trials, so that seems to go far beyond what is already happening at University of Sask.
I had already written to the Ontario Minister of Health advising Ontario has the potential to be leaders in CCSVI treatment and calling on her to take swift action to make that happen (no reply to date).
I will now follow up with her, urging her to follow Saskatchewan's lead. Wouldn't it be great if she would offer actual treatment, not just trials. (Once again, I can dream!)

End of the article ends with a downer though........research still has to be approved by the biomedical ethics board.
The UofS study took over a year to be approved........hopefully with the support of our government it won't take as long.
People really have no idea how long a year is when you feel the effects of a chronic illness every day.

Saskatchewan has the highest rate of multiple sclerosis among provinces, with some 3,500 residents affected by it.
that should be more shouldn't it?

It's per capita...........only 1 mil ppl in Sask. 1/285
1/440 in the rest of canada

huh that low number might be right. BC has between 3 and 6 thousand?
I thought it was 30 to 60 thousand. So sask with less than a million people even if one in 500 has ms could be that low.

actual estimated rates:
According to the study researchers, the overall weighted estimate of MS prevalence in Canada was 240 per 100,000. Prevalence was also reported by region: British Columbia – 240 per 100,000; Prairie region – 340 per 100,000; Ontario – 230 per 100,000; Quebec – 180 per 100,000; Atlantic region – 350 per 100,000. Because of the small numbers involved, prevalence was not broken out by province within the Prairie and Atlantic regions.

On Med News on ctv at luchtime today they had MP Kirsty Duncan from
Etobicoke speaking to the trial and the immediate need for all provinces and the federal government to follow form and get on board, she
did a great, well spoken job as always and remains one of our
best , clearly focused advocates.

But seriousely how would that work, treatment trials? Basically somne would get it and some would not...sorry if that sounds spinny.

They need a sufficiently large enough study group to make the study results as reliable as possible.
I suggest 3500.
