Not a huge question, just something that's bugging me because I don't quite understand it.

Finally I flew to Dublin for a doppler at the fabulous and very lovely Ultrasound Dimensions (highly recommend). I understood what she said, but not quite sure how to interpret it to what it means in actuality.

She said my RJV is fine both supine and elevated, but that my left although ok supine... closes totally on elevation and several collateral veins become evident. Ok all well and a good result, good to know that ccsvi seems evident etc.

But what does this actually mean? I understand the collateral veins are trying to account for the problem, but why would the jug' just disappear on elevation? Because to me that doesn't indicate a narrowing, twist, or blockage, just that something is closing off totally for some reason, like a valve or something? Why on earth would this happen?
And if all is fine lying down, howcome I feel at worst after sleep? I use IBT, but now wondering if I need to...

I should wait for the radiologist report but I figured someone here would know how to interpret it, lol

i think doppler shows which way blood is flowing .
