My wife was treated yesterday by Drs. Simka and Ludyga. Everything went very smoothly.

The only problem is she is now plotting a trip to a big shopping mall in Katowice for tomorrow.

I understand that some neurologists believe that all the benefits of CCSVI treatment are the result of the endorphines released by shopping in a big mall, not improvements in cerebrospinal blood circulation.

Hi Snowfire,

Scary isn't it! But also very exiting.Bon voyage, and good luck with the treatment. I'm flying out on Saturday - tests start on Monday. I keep shaking with anticipation now, 'cos there have been so many things on this site that I didn't even know were related to ms, and I feel I tick all the boxes. Well, we'll see.

Best wishes, eyebrow

Hi squeakycat,

I have to agree with your wife, and the sceptics. A bit of retail therpay always does me the power of good, but unfortunately not my ms! I'm usually exhausted and my legs get all crampoed so that I just can't walk another step! Hope your wife's up to it. Congratulations!

There is nothing to worry about in Katowice. I was done in June, and I would do it once a month if need be. Unfortunately, I do need to go back for a second round in October, but I am looking forward to it. Take a treat for the old black dog that guards the funky hospital. He barks all day. You will hear the cuckoos in the morning, and smile. You will feel so happy. People will be waiting with excitement on the steps of the hotel on their way to be treated, and you will demonstrate your balance and renewed vigour. The nurses are great, and actually do smile and laugh. They look fierce, but they are not. I experienced zero pain or discomfort - during, or after the procedure, except when the duck-footed night nurse jabbed me with the blood thinner in the morning. I think that she was mad that we had kept her awake half the night with our laughing and talking (they sleep on couches in the hallway). I made her laugh though.

Have a great time. It will be one of the best days of your life. It was for me.

Well, only 2 days now! I just wanna say a GREAT BIG THANKYOU for your prayers, best wishes and encouragement. Promise not to shop til I drop, and I'll definitely take something for the old black dog.
Thanks also for all the really useful information on this site. Hopefully I'll have something useful to contribute in a week or so!
