i got charged $2500. doppler, hotel, and another doppler the day after.
if you need a sten...go for the guy who's done the most...maybe you'rer kind of good, because, if i remember corretly, you had both sides done and only one collapsed??????????

Very happy for you that some improvements came back
You said Simka re-checked your azygos and also checked iliac vein in addition this time round. Did he find stenosis in azygos or iliac and were those veins then treated in your procedure? Or in your second procedure only the stent placed in the jugular that had restenosed?
Find also very interesting that you report another doppler check was performed after procedure (as indeed Dr Simka for a while did not do this - at least not in period May-June 2010). Was the blood flow normalised in your case at this check?

azygos and iliac were clear.
what i found with the euromedic team in katowice, is that i think we're all in study groups, because, having been twice, things changed - the doppler afterwards for everyone, plus a stented person is now on Plavix and aspirin for one year.(yes, the blood flow was great) i believe it used to be 2 months or something. so, i think they group us and then wait for the outcomes for improvements. this is only my opinion...
i would have loved to have the dr who only angioplasties and doesn't have a restenosis record, buuuttt...having a stent is better than nothing at this point in our development.

Hi Esta, thanks for this info. I'm sure if they placed a stent it was necessary, as they only do so if the vein restenoses immediately. In my case (end May) the Simka team did not place it. They told me during the procedure that was not necessary for the stenosis I had (I felt they applied a very high balloon pressure several times to push it open and seems they saw it remained open?), and it seems was also not possible.
And fortunately am lucky that still had no restenosis after 4 months. At least until now - just had a doppler check: both jugulars still open and normal blood flow:D. The doc told me that if remain open after 4 months the chance that stays like this is now very high. That's good news
