I was tested for CCSVI (ct scan and ultrasound) this morning. No problems found except for mild reflux in the left jugular. They don't know whether a blockage is causing this, maybe under my collar bone where they can't see it. Can't decide whether to go ahead with the venogram based on these results. Any opinions?
By the way all my lesions are on my spine. Some people say this could be linked to the azygos vein. Can azygos vein blockages be missed during a ct scan but be found during a venogram?

I have very aggressive spinal cord MS. I have had testing in Buffalo and the Hubbard foundation in San Diego this summer. Azygous vein info is hard to analyze without the venogram. I get mine in 3 weeks in San Diego . Boy it seems like a long time yet. My jugulars were the opposite of narrow - wide- but each had a defect found on ultrasound. My reflux was only detected while laying down so I'm hoping my azygous is found to be a problem. I will let you all know.

Reflux is abnormal. And there has to be something causing it. I'd go for the venogram, it's the only way to really know, and imaging can be quite imperfect anyways. Welcome to thisisms!

Garyak, I didn't know your MS was so aggressive, I'm sorry to read that. Hope your procedure is a massive success.

Azy's are difficult to image, considering your lesion locations though, it sounds like something worth taking a hard look at. Plus there may be things missed on the jugulars too that would be seen on the veno. Especially under the collarbone. I saw this first hand last year at Stanford, where the ultrasound picked up nothing, the MRV was very indicative of further investigation, and the venogram found much more than that, then other pathologies were identified after another venogram which included an internal ultrasound at the 1 year follow up.

Can't tell you what to do, but if it were me, I wouldn't hesitate. What kind of ultrasound did they use?
