From the article by Anne Kingston in the 9/20/10 issue-
Liberation Therapy Still Locked Away

EDIT---now available online:
link

On Aug. 26, a panel of 23 "medical specialists" and three "observers" gathered in the Ottawa offices of the CIHR....the 8 hour meeting yielded a unanimous decision that it would be "premature" for the federal government to fund clinical trials for angioplasty to relieve CCSVI....
Exactly what happened in the CIHR's officies at 160 Elgin Street appears destined to stay in 160 Elgin Street. No written minutes or audio recording of the meeting are available. The panel members are not allowed to speak about the meeting.

Highly recommended reading for those who want to understand the CIHR's panel of experts' decision. On newstands now.

MS Canada is infested by the MS society, and Canada as a whole is slowly becoming a politically French dominatated country.

The CHIR will be held accountable in this life and the next.

Shame on them.

We are the laughing stock of the world.

This peice seems to ignore an important fact about the CIHR leadership.

Dr. Bernard Prigent also happens to be the vice-president and medical director of Pfizer Canada.

This conflict of interest is beyond belief but it gets better. According to the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying of Canada, the government agency that regulates lobbyists, Prigent is a registared lobbyist. His position as Pfizer lobbyist is to sway policy at the "Canadian Institute of Health Researchers (CIHR) and other Research Oriented Spending Programs as it relates to private/public research and development partnerships," and Prigent is to achieve these aims through both oral and written techniques.

In other words, Prigent the Pfizer lobbyist is paid to lobby Prigent the CIHR official.

Disclaimer - These facts were obtained form articles published on the internet so I hope they are accurate.

This should be required reading for all of the provincial health ministers at their meeting in Newfoundland this week.

I've been sending all sorts of supporting links and articles to media to help generate a news story about the corruption, collusion, greed, turf war, conflict of interests with CIHR and MS brass etc. We should all bombard the media with more of these.

Hi Bruce---
yes, they are. Those are from the Conflict of Interest notes I put together on the CIHR panel. All of the information was confirmed. Pringent did not serve on this panel of experts. I wrote about him because of his appointment to the CIHR by Dr. Alain Beaudet, head of the CIHR and his long-standing ties to the pharmaceutical industry. Here is the note for those on Facebook. All of the sources are accredited.

Many of the panelists receive honoraria and research grants from the pharmaceutical industry. Many of the panelists are past recipients of grants from the Canadian MS Society and CIHR, and many of the panelists serve on the very same boards that granted themselves monies. All of my notes are available on Facebook, and Dr. Embry goes into more depth in his report out today.

Huh? Harper is from Toronto, even if he's a cowboy at heart.
