Don't give up,

I just received a call yesterday and was offered an appointment on Nov 24, there was a cancellation that I'll be filling. I'm so excited.

Good luck

when did you first contact them? Are you being treated at the hospital or clinic? Good Luck!

This was posted by Bruce123 on Sept 19 ... "Brave: I called Alany June28 and last week e-mailed Dr S to ask if they can tell me any tentative date. He replied today saying that my turn will be around mid 2011." Now today see above .... YES!
This is a good indication that the wait list is moving. There are some posts on fb but it's hard to tell if it is with Albany/Siskin or the other Albany.
Good luck Brave. Let us know how you make out or if you can get some inside information on how fast the list will be moving.

I'm confused.

Community Care in Albany has stated that they fill spots in the order that they were origonally contacted, including cancelation spots. Brave called on June 28 and was offered an appointment on Nov. 24. There are many people who called well before June 28 who are still waiting. I called May 26!

I don't want to call Community Care and ask because I don't want to p**s them off. I know they are doing their best but this makes me wonder about their scheduling.

Being anxious make me a bit paranoid.

Bruce.

I originally called on June 28 and later on didn't call or or e-mail Albany other than once that asked about their tentative schedule.

my procedure is scheduled to be done at Medical center(I assume that's hospital, isn't it?)

I think they might randomly pick MSer from certain age, MS type or so in order to collect statistics and result about different age or different type of MS

My MS is PPMS since 1998 and since 2 years a go has become very aggressive. that might play a role in picking me. I'm not sure how many people with PPMS are in line.

and last not the least , maybe they're attending the list in faster speed they expected.

I hope everyone get the call ASAP

Yes, Albany Medical Center is the hospital.

My darling man made his first call on May 18 but never received a call back so he called again on May 24. He received his date call in July and was treated on Sept. 14. He also has PPMS. I don't know if that made a difference or not.

Brave ... Just trying to figure this out .... Are you American?? From what I understand Americans are serviced in the 'hospital' with insurance covering the cost. Brave is that your case? If so, this may make sense. They may have 2 waiting lists!! American & Out-of-Country ...
Out-of-Country patients ie Canadians are serviced in the 'clinic' which is less expensive due to no insurance coverage.
Either way, all the best with your procedure.

Hi Brave:

My husband is similar to you - diagnosed with PPMS in 1997 with marked progression in the last two years compared to the years prior (probably due to stress). We called on May 28th and haven't received an appt yet. We are Canadian. There must be two lists.

All the best to you Brave. I hope that you feel some improvements!

Hello erinc14 .... you may want to contact them and let them know that the 'hospital' would be okay with you. On the email that Albany sent to us there may be a contact email and/or phone number.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I'm so sorry if my posting have caused any disappointment for others. don’t forget, not everyone who receives the call, report it here.
Maybe there are other exceptions that we're not aware of it.

I know we all anxious to hear from Albany, I might be able to get some answers when I go there because in many occasions I wished others who go there they would ask my questions.
