What i was thinking (during work); could it be that flow problems in f.e. the left jugular corresponds with flow problems in vertebrae veins on the left side...there is genetic factor in misformed veins.
It just popped into my mind, maybe some problems are due to a genetic factor...logical or not, doc?

I learned from vein docs that it's normal that the IJ collapses in erect position, that azygos has more flow in erect position.

Checked my Doppler from 2012/dr sclafani ; reflux in LIJ/RIJ, but not in vertebrae veins.

There are a variations in the designs of the dural sinuses, emissary and vertebral venous outlets. Some designs have greater drainage capacity than others and can therefore tolerate more blockage. Some drainage systems are prone to problems due to design. An anomoly or malformation in the internal jugular route, however, doesn'tnecessarily mean that the vertebral veins on the same side are anomolous.

The IJs tend to collapse because during upright posture the brain preferentially drains into the vertebral veins.

I haven't had a CCSVI procedure only the inspection by Doppler which was also to see if there were implications of CPn infection or pathogen infection that were effecting flow.

The Wheldon/Thibault protocol is being used to treat the persistent CPn infection.

The interesting thing in my small mind is that I have a disc bulge and an unusual vert Doppler reading.

The past MRI reports aren't clear enough to describe the position of C5/C6 bulge in relation to the blood or CSF flow potential issues. I will as for impressions at my MRI next week.

Disc bulges compress the epidural space and vertebral veins. Compression of the epidural veins changes craniospinal hydrodynamics, which can adversely affect CSF flow in the subarachnoid space of the cord.

Next year i want an mRI again for the cervical part, i wonder what the chiropractor's treatment with Cox table changed..

Hi Robert, I am thinking that having an Upright MRI is the next thing on my wish list.

Hearing Dr F explain the vertebrals are encased makes me want to know about changes to the disc bulge after the Doppler showed changes when vertical. If the disc shape changes or moves, then the likelihood of flow issues or impinging of the cord is much higher.

I have seen many comments that PwMS have bulges and have to think that there is another possible cause for 'MS'! Many possible causes already, another option is very likely, imo, because of the potential issues!

I apologize for missing your PM. I have been busy and haven't been to this site for awhile. I will get back to you.

We still have a long way to go but we managed to open our guesthouse on July 4th weekend. We also got our initial website, Facebook page and blog started. We are still waiting to start the new kitchen and dining room. We will update the website when the project is complete and we have better pictures to show. The historic house is still a mess.
