Any news or opinions-just heard there's an IR doing the procedure in Atlanta-working with CCSVI Atlanta-but a separate entity

If it's the one I'm thinking of, you want to look for CaptBoo's thread. It's another Dr. S. He is conservative and does not use stents. He's able to coordinate with CCSVI Atlanta so that you can get the imaging done there and the procedure if needed with him the next day or even the same afternoon. CCSVI Atlanta does not take insurance for the Doppler and they require you to fly in 24 hours before you get the Doppler done.

Best of luck to you!! A friend here in Charlotte went to Atlanta for testing and it was negative for CCSVI. She then went to Albany and was diagnosed with IJV and Azy stenosis, and was treated.

I saw that in CaptBoo's threads, he mentioned the doc by name: it is Dr. Sullivan of Atlanta Access Care. Not sure how many ccsvi venoplasties he has done, but he is an established IR and teaches at Emory University.

Magoo, in my case CCSVI-Atlanta found weirdness in my jugs and reflux, which was enough to meet the Zamboni criteria for CCSVI. In actual fact, with the venogram Dr. Sullivan found stenosis in both jugs, below the clavicle and stenosis in the azygos, which Doppler can't see. He didn't find the jugular weirdness described by the Doppler.

I guess my point is that the Doppler imaging has serious limitations for some people, it can't see through bones. I was lucky that the reflux and jug weirdness was enough to qualify as CCSVI. If it hadn't I don't think I would have pursued the venogram if I hadn't met CCSVI criteria.

But I'm glad I did.

BTW, can anybody tell me how to clean the html commands out of my signature.
