Dr. Randal Frantz " a vascular dr." at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio is treating people with peripheal artery disease of the legs. the success rate is amazing. although it is not fda approved yet the research trials pretty much speak for themselves.

if you "Google" adult stem cells saving legs or Dr. Randal Frantz Columbus, Ohio saving legs adult stem cells there is a lot about it and testimonies.

so, hopefully the adult stem cells may come into play with ccsvi in certain cases when veins need repair or even new veins grown. time will tell. but to me it would not be out of the question.

My hope would be this:
1) Stop the MS progression with CCSVI treatment
2) Use stem cells to repair the damage done to the brain and spinal column from years of blocked veins.

OK I just googled that and came up with this link http://www.frcblog.com/2010/02/adult-st ... ing-lives/

Looks like once again I missed the boat. Sorry about that.

Now I see that the idea of this technology is to grow new veins. Wow that would be even better than angioplasty if it works. That could work even for people whose veins never developed (agenesis). Maybe restenosis would not be a problem either. And of course repairing damaged brain cells would still be a possibility. Of course I must emphasize those words "IF IT WORKS".

david, i hope when you were googling you read some of the other sites about this. even about the doctor himself. he is very impressive. kinda reminds me a lot of the passionate and compassionate doctors and chiropractors that are getting on board with ccsvi.

there is other research i read somewhere where they are starting to grow veins in the labs. at first i thought stem cell was all about repair which it would be in ms to hopefully repair and restore function to our damaged nerves etc. just for example, in certain heart problems the stem cells have been repairing and restoring function. or, certain eye problems. that part is to repair and restore. but, these little buggers are also growing parts. why not veins? as you say, in certain cases of ccsvi some are missing veins etc.

i agree that there is the big "IF" factor. but, the fact is for me anyway about the "IF" is that "IF" these doctors could somehow speed up getting all they are learning and already know is working and get together and they too keep the blinders off and keep away from tunnel vision it seems they just might get a real handle on this. i mean no disrespect in anyway to what is already being accomplished.

for yrs. it was and still is a guessing game when it comes to ms. but for sure the "circulation is involved". whether impaired from a trauma, birth, enviroment, virus or whatever. gotta get it fixed and repair damage.

didn't i read on tims that there is a doctor working on first to liberate then stem cell then hyperbaric chamber. maybe he will be the one to grow a new vein for his patient if needed.

it's coming together. i just want it yesterday!!
