There is a clinic called, Niagara vascular lab,
for imaging, dopplers etc

2 vascular Drs, involved with it

A doppler ultra sound was ordered for a follow up

asking for, doppler on left IJV, re- stent

after, their booking clerk
asked my doctors nurse questions on where and why/ who
did this treatment, due to m.s.?

said stated,
she must speak to the doctors who read them etc/
a call was returned after 1 week, stating, they could not do it
( a doppler)
as they did not have enough info in regards to this procedure..........
when explained, it was a doppler ultra sound , that is all needed
her answer was, no.

then, the clerk, said, you went to the states to have this,
why didn't you have them do the doppler follow up
humm

A very good medical system which, although far from perfect, is still miles ahead of what most of the world has to offer.

The doctors you are complaining about have certain legal medical responsibility and liability. As they have no training in CCSVI treatment and as they do not in fact know exactly what was done to you, are in no position to comment on the state of your veins relative to the procedure.

In other words, they might think that, 'Gee, is that funny looking area what happens when you balloon the IJV.' Then they tell you all is well. Two days later you bleed out because your IJV ruptures. Guess who gets the hell sued out of them.

I have no problem with people who decide to go elsewhere for treatment. That is your choice. But if you can't get aftercare and you want to know who to blame, look in the nearest mirror. That should have been just as much a part of your planning as your flight arrangements.

There was an interesting piece on the CBC's National the other night about the cost of medical tourism to the canadian health system. It had nothing to do with CCSVI treatment although they did mention it. The one hospital they featured figures its costs them (and the taxpayer) about $ 160,000.00 per year to do repairs to botched medical tourism procedures. And that is for procedures that can be done here.

You might've had an argument with the "due to MS". The treatment was due to outflow obstructions in your jugulars. MS is a separate disease and should not have been necessary to the discussion. :(

I am upset if people still can't get follow-up care in Canada despite all the proclamations that emergency care will be provided. Ok, follow-up care is not emergency care until it becomes an emergency due to lack of follow-up care! Ergh.

Hope you're feeling well, tiredloulou.
