It's not just what was posted in this thread, it's what's been posted in the past on this subject.

He is the only one here on TIMS who has had his job discussed repeatedly. (Ok, CCSVIhusband played a "guess what my employer makes, you have two of them in your house" game, which never was resolved, but that was him bringing it up. With Lyon, other people bring it up.)

I don't mean to offend anyone and I haven't actually been reading all posts in this thread, so I may have missed some things, but on this particular matter I feel quite strongly.

I don't see what NHE said as a knock on anyone. He/she repeated his words exactly - you can read his posts, he/she linked them. You can't even say it's taking it out of context ... it's an exact repetition of Lyon's words. NotFound didn't know the answers to the questions - relevant or not - (I'm sure a lot of people new to the site don't ... and they missed the ugliness between Lyon and Chris over the past year) ...

As far as my job and what we make, nobody got it right yet ... and since one of the "skeptics" sent me PMs lambasting me for the subject I just never answered - but we don't know what he does either, so ...

Going back to the beginning it needs to be recognized that over 90% of interesting MS theories turn out to be dust in the wind under further scrutiny.

I think aside from placebo, other psychological effects are happening here. (Even some which happen to skeptical people exclusively.) There are people who suffer from a lack of expectation management, to be sure. There are others who demand to be over-treated and sometimes fare badly as a result. There are others who have had no psychological effects at all. Personally, I have been paying special attention to the statements of others, who have not seen me since before Liberation. They tell me about changes I had not noticed. In fact, as we go forward, I think one thing we may find is that people really do forget what some of their problems were like, and continue to believe they have them because they haven't yet noticed they are missing. And though it sounds insensitive, having an ailment is not our natural condition, and when they see enough improvements, some might just go back to 'normalcy' and not make a very big deal out of it.

I have not noticed being able to walk yet. Or fret a guitar. The difference to me is, enough things have improved, for me to think that I might be healing. That I might someday walk. To me, that is a big difference; one I can't explain scientifically. I am less hopeless. Given what has been learned by training rodents to be hopeless, that might just be worth more than all the other psychological effects put together. Like them, you can't prove anything by it. It might be worth more than a lot of medicine, though.

Off the top of my head:

toxins( a toxin circulating in the bloodstream leaked and out into the brain) viruses, 1930-1940 a VASCULAR CAUSE, diet, aspartame(diet soda),Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers

For this reason in 1981 a consensus was reached on the essential role of double-blind, placebo controlled clinical trials for new therapeutic agents in MS.
