Marie,

Congradulations on your new book: Ccsvi As the Cause of Multiple Sclerosis: The Science Behind the Controversial Theory

<shortened url>

Not sure if you still read the board. If you happen to read this I was wondering how many pages will the book have.

Thanks,
happydance

thanks for posting the link, happy.
Marie hasn't been as active on the board in the past year, but she checks in now and then. Not sure how many pages the final book is, but it is very complete, clearly written and well-researched, with many references. It won't be available until April, but the link you provided is for pre-orders.

For new folks, Marie was the pioneer, going to Stanford just after Jeff. Her research and in-depth understanding of CCSVI, as a medical professional with MS, helped all of us put the pieces together on this board. To read her posts on TIMS, search mrhodes as author.
Congrats to Marie!

As much as many of we old-timers of TiMS have the greatest respect and regard for Marie, this book could be slightly premature.

Maybe it needs a question mark in the title, after the word 'Sclerosis'?

The fact that the word "theory" follows the first part of the title should suffice, Phil :)

And it was a professional medical publisher that titled the book. Not Marie.

I don't know if any title will sufficiently capture all the nuance that aptly applies here, I will say our Marie dug in pretty deep, and fairly well into the Science part of this, in a well cadenced, and mesmerizing fashion, with enough footnotes and biblio. Ref's to at least keep the doors of academia, if not the inquiring minds of the public at large, propped open just a tad if not more. Can't reccomend it enough, seriously, she struck the right tone point A to B, not proselytizing, not closing the case, not glossing over the negative stuff either. Balanced, and very informative and orderly.

Your opinion may vary later on of course, but that's my take on it..:)

Marie's contribution here at TIMS .... was well received .

I expect her book to be most helpful .... in understanding CCSVI.

And do wish she will return to TIMS to help explain the vast amount of medical info ....... into layman's terms.

Wow, to be released in April. Definitely would like for Marie to come back to TIMS after release to cover some of the science in this much anticipated book. Of course, some have mentioned they believe the book to be completely accessible to any interested reader. Dr. Haacke has written the foreward.

The header of this thread is speculative and misleading. Show me one randomized, controlled, longitudinal and replicabl study that substantiates this sensational suggestion and I'll convert.

And she asked me "boy, do you believe in Jesus?" And I said no mam, but I sure do tonight.

The title was not completed at the head of this thread.
The complete title of Marie's new book, out in April is:
Ccsvi As the Cause of Multiple Sclerosis: The Science Behind the Controversial Theory
(Mcfarland Health Topics) [Paperback]
Marie A. Rhodes (Author), Elaine A. Moore (Editor)

Don't need converts. Just want more doctors studying this.

I placed my order last night and cannot wait for the book to be released.
How exciting is this !

As I learn/ read more about vascular physiology and pathophysiology I am shocked about how little is known about veins in general.Arteries have really stolen the limelight in research.

This book will open a whole new road in the understanding of multiple sclerosis.

Congratulations Marie !

Is there any way to get a copy signed?
