Can doppler scans check the jugular vein @ top of chest?

i had 50% stenosis in my IJVs where they enter the chest - in line with my collar bones,

i may have a follow up doppler scan but as the stenosis is in line with my collar bones can this area be scanned with a doppler?

as its not in the neck i thought scanning the top of the chest/collar bone area isnt close enough to the vein to show details?

No, they can't. However, if there is a restenosis, the flow detected by the doppler will be abnormal.

thanks sou,
i would originally see no point in getting a follow up doppler if they cant see the veins there, but now think maybe i could sere restenosis, so i think i will get the scan done

If you had a doppler done before your procedure, that is good for comparison. Follow-up dopplers measure for CCSVI in the same way and with the same effectiveness as dopplers done before the procedure.

The elastic-recoil type of restenosis is not worrisome other than having to do the procedure again; the clotting-type of restenosis is worrisome, as the veins can be lost. Clots can be unfelt, with no symptom change to indicate a clot. I urge everyone to go for follow-up ultrasounds.
