I have been liberated twice - balloon angio (IJVs twice and Azygos ballooned once)

I have come across a few supplements that help with circulation and was wondering if they could benefit a CCSVI patients symptoms(mobility):

Cayenne extract
Green Tea extract
Cod liver oil

I have replaced baby Aspirin with Gingko Biloba, was on baby aspirin afterf ballooning for 3 months before i switched to gingko,

I already take a big range of supplements ewvery day including:
Calcium , Magnesium, Zinc, Copper,Fish oil, Evening Primrose oil, Vitamin B50, B12, C, D3, E, Selenium, Beta Carotene, Milk Thistle, MSM.
Splint in two, half at lunch, half at dinner

What are your thoughts on adding the 3 supplements i listed'?

I also read on here that Vit C (i take 1000mg daily) could be a propblem, do others 1agree?

thank you

heya,

i have no real input on herbal supplements (except i have used ginko before and found it helped in a cognitive sense) and i would be cautious with cod liver oil if you already supplement beta carotene and vit d3.

i do have some other thoughts though.. as for your vit E, is that natural ratio vit E8 complex, with 4 mixed tocopherols and 4 mixed tocotrienols? isolated alpha-tocopherol drives down other parts of the complex in a potentially harmful way. (one study demonstrated increased prostate cancer risk w. synthetic alpha tocopherol supplementation)

re half and half timing, do you separate magnesium intake from d3 intake at all?

i am sure you will get some feedback on the cayenne and tea :)

hi jimmylegs,

i take this vit e:
http://www.zipvit.com/cgi-bin/popupprod ... 20Sterling

it says it includes D Alplha Tocopherol
so is it best if i stop taking this?

i tried looking for a vitamin e8 complex but couldnt find any,
but i did see this vit e :

http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/ ... prodid=134

is this a better vit e supplement?

- I take calxcium and magnesium both at lunch and in thwe evening, i take the D3 at lunch, is this a problem?

i only take gingko with breakfast.

thank you

I can't say that these would help mobility directly but they are all good supplements in my mind. EGCG from the green tea supplement is an iron chelator and is known to cross the blood brain barrier. If iron is getting into the brain in MS patients, EGCG might get it out.[/code]

hey sorry adam i missed that response earlier.

d-alpha tocopherol is better than dl-alpha tocopherol but it's still going to push you out of natural ratio. it's your call but studies have shown it's not a good idea.

also although vit e is considered potentially dangerous as a fat soluble nutrient, there is no known toxicity to vitamin e from food sources.
a quarter cup of raw sunflower seeds per day can take you a good way towards your daily needs.

here are the two E8 supplement products i know about off the top of my head. i have the new roots one because it's way cheaper than trophic. so trophic is probably better but my wallet votes for new roots!

http://www.newrootsherbal.com/product/view/id/1093
http://www.trophic.net/products/vitamins.html

the one you found is half the E8 complex with tocopherols only, no tocotrienols.

where r u adam? i noticed trophic has a link to online vendors but i don't know if they ship internationally; you could check:
http://www.trophic.net/locations/online_locations.htm

you should be okay taking calcium and mag at the same time, lunch and dinner as long as the d3 stays just with lunch OR dinner not both.

you may already know that calcium and magnesium compete for absorption so unless the balance is right, one or the other of cal or mag can get out of whack. if you have symptoms like spasticity or tics or muscle pain or difficulty breathing the mag could be low. if you're weak or have bone pain perhaps low calcium.

how do you find the gingko? do you keep track of things better? i did.

hope that helps :) sorry my answer was slow!

Cece- it sounds like green tea extract would be useful then, i think ill give it a trial at least

Jimmylegs - no worries, better late then never :)

I am from the UK so those supplements would be expensive to get hold of,

a few days ago i bought this Vit E as i was in the shop so thought it must be better than the zipvit one i currently use:

http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/ ... prodid=134

When you say "bone pain" how would you describe this pain?
as sometimes when im trying to get to sleep i get an achey feeling in just my left leg (the weaker one)

gingko - i feel a bit more mobile when taking as i replaced aspirin with gingkpo, but with regards to remembering i have never had problems/symptoms with brain/cognition or any brain' symptoms so couldnt say if it made a difference

- i take this calcium + magnesium tablet Twice a day:

http://www.zipvit.com/cgi-bin/popupprod ... 20Sterling

is this balanced?

thank JL[/b]

Daily drink, or more like 'concoction', is glass of water with lots of lemon and cayenne....I have always loved 'hot' so this is a tasty drink for me....cayenne for circulation is good I hear.....among other things.
(I live in the land of the Chile (Santa Fe, NM) so cannot wait to start making batches of chile sauce, red, that is).
