High-quality, Efficient, Minimally Invasive Medical Treatments Showcased March 26-31 in Chicago, Ill.
FAIRFAX, Va., March 16, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --
The Society of Interventional Radiology will present the latest research on treatments for individuals with chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency or CCSVI; liver and breast cancer; enlarged prostates; uterine fibroids, high blood pressure; and more at its 36th Annual Scientific Meeting March 26-31 at McCormick Place (West) in Chicago, Ill. The theme of the meeting is "IR Rising: Leading Image-guided Medicine," chosen to reflect interventional radiology's continued revolutionizing of modern medicine.

Interventional Radiology Treatment for CCSVI in MS Patients
Advancing MS Research: A Look at a Vein-opening Treatment
About 500,000 people in the United States have MS generally thought of as an incurable, disabling autoimmune disease in which a person's body attacks its own cells. A new study explores an endovascular treatment used by interventional radiologists to widen the veins in the neck and chest to improve blood flow. Will it encourage additional studies for its use as a treatment option for chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency or CCSVI in individuals with multiple sclerosis? Such treatments could be transformative for patients.

It is a great line-up. After ISET, ISNVD and the SIR meeting, I think that's it for awhile.

Hi Cheer, excellent, you are amazing. Thank you. :D

Thanks Cece and Cheer.

Btw, I had Dr. Kenneth Mandato, work on me too, assisting with Dr Siskin, et al., the first time, since I was a problem case. Lol

Did I mention that Dr. Kenneth Mandato, MD is young and very handsome, with super bedside manner too? A great doctor.

Dr. Siskin is super too, but his schedule is so busy I don't know how he does it. Yet he always looks like he just had a shower and changed. Very calm, but he has a very serious personality, meaning he gets right to the point.
TMI I guess. Lol

Cece, thanks for the info. These abstracts looked interesting.

alas, the brooklyn m eeting will be held in manhattan which is more accessible and which may entice some from the many medical schools to sniff around and may try on the idea of CCSVI.

I (with strong and impactful advice from PwMS) am setting aside a day (friday july 15) for patients to have a day of education from experts that is geared toward them.

Do you think that this is a good idea and should i pursue it. I have until the end of the week when i must sign the contract.

do it!

sounds like a good idea :)

Zamboni himself is doing the same at the upcoming Australasian College of Phlebology Conference (ACP 2011) this week in Melbourne - lucky me!

Yes, it sounds like a fantastic idea. I would attend. Glad to see it would be in Manhattan which, as you say, is more accessible.
