What is the current status of this study in Italy? From various posts, I understand it is finally a large enough study from which to draw valid conclusions, but I also thought I read that Zamboni withdrew from it because yet again his protocols were not being followed.

Is that correct?

Strange, yesterday I read results would be available in two years. He also said it's great so many hospitals are working together (in Italy) because at the end (when the procedure is widely accepted  ) they can start treating all over the country.

but.. I can't remember were I read this..

In Italy there are two ongoing trials. The first is sponsored by AISM (Italian Association MS), and has as objective to verify the correspondence CCSVI / MS. Prof. Zamboni disassociated itself from this trial. The second (BRAVE DREAMS) but should start in late summer, and also will be a trial of PTA, double-blind and randomized.

thanks!

Thanks for clearing that up masci.

It kinda worries me that yet another trial is taking place that does not follow Zamboni protocols. Is it perhaps true that diagnosis of CCSVI is more art than science?

I think getting a boatload of scientists to agree on which end of the boat to stand on, is a fine art, seldom possible. A good thing, for seaworthiness.
