how could the AAC Patient day be even better next year?

For those who were at the Patient Day, or those who weren't but have an opinion anyway, how could it be made even better next year?

What would you have liked to learn about but didn't?

(And is one of the most important factors in location choice that the hotel has a good bar?! :D )

I loved Patient Day. For me the only way to make it better is to have more social time.

When I ran the Tampa event in March, the educational part was Friday, and Saturday was a fundraising walk. It would be great if next year we, the patients, can do something on Saturday to fundraise for CCSVI research. I can't see a walk in Manhattan because the logistics are mind-boggling, but we can organize something else.

A few newbies said they would have liked more Q & A time after the Patient Panel. Thinking back to when I was a newbie to CCSVI, I can understand why they had so many questions for the panelists.

I agree with Michelle about the importance of socializing. :D

Yes, Cece, the bar is one of the MOST important factors in location choice. The Crowne Plaza bar is perfect for our needs, and any other venue should have a similar set-up (if not identical).

Crowne Plaza bar:
* Very large bar with lots of stools and bartenders.
* Seating areas that are open and allow for easy wheelchair/scooter access.
* Seating areas with movable block-style seats that allow for different configurations.
* Seating areas with sofas so people can lean back for extra support and comfort.
* Bar close to elevators which is helpful for those with mobility issues.
* Bar close to hotel entrance which is helpful for those with mobility issues.
* Bar on same floor as symposium which is helpful for those with mobility issues.

Also, perhaps an announcement could be made at the end of the symposium about the CCSVI Happy Hour so everyone has an opportunity to meet others in a relaxed, comfortable setting. I'm very glad some doctors and people from Facebook groups and CCSVI Alliance came to the bar -- I met several of them... Christine R., Denise G., and others.
