Dear Cece and Dear Trish317,

Thank you so much for your efforts to support Sandy by voting for her story. I just assumed you were fellow Canadians too :)!!

I'm afraid that the contest's Facebook administrator did say that although all votes are going through, ones that do not comply with the rules will not count :(.

Still, your support of Sandy is so very much appreciated. Please do encourage any fellow Canadian friends/fellow MSers, etc., to vote for Sandy. Thank you so much.

Take care and keep well.

I hope you both have a lovely weekend.
Chrystal

Here I am again!

If you knew the lengths Sandra has gone to for her husband's and her family's welfare, you would vote every day for her - and you would want to shout from the rooftops for everyone else to do the same, just as I am doing.

Thank you so much for not minding my daily reminders and for supporting Sandy with your votes.

Please read Sandra's Story and vote for her daily (I'm afraid only Canadian votes will be counted) until Sept. 4th. Thank you.

Hello Everyone,

This is the last week of voting. Please continue to vote each day until September 4th. http://contests.citytv.com/icanachieve/ ... px?sid=827

We all know how much our loved ones go through each day as they live not only their own role within the family, but also sometimes need to fulfill the role of their spouse with MS.

Many times, as in Sandy's case, our loved ones are the sole breadwinner; the night-time caregiver of their spouse and the primary parent bearing all responsibilities. They are the backbone holding the whole family unit together. Their unwavering love, strength and support is as important as the air we breathe.

Sadly - often times, those who are of such great support to us, have very little support for themselves. And still they selflessly and lovingly continue being our caregivers, our cheerleaders, our lifeline, etc., thank God.

Many, many thanks to all who have taken the time and trouble to vote for Sandy in the past weeks, and for continuing to vote for her until the last day! Your support is very, very much appreciated.

Take care and God Bless,
Chrystal

Sandra's Story for any newcomers to this posting:

Entrant's Name: Sandra Y

Keswick, ON

I proudly nominate Sandra Young-Robinson, a kind and gentle woman who has taken the words "I can achieve" to a new and unsurpassable level, with such remarkable selflessness, grace and dignity. Through Sandra’s achievements - all feats of courage and determination - many have been blessed, our lives richer for knowing her and seeing the fine example she lives.

Sandra is the primary caregiver of her bedridden and gravely ill husband, while lovingly raising two wonderful young children. Her boundless compassion and caring has her constantly reaching out and offering assistance to many. Sandra has made valuable contributions to the community by actively advocating on behalf of the ill, and by helping others in need.

For many years now, Sandra has continued to do what is best for both her husband and her family. She has kept her husband at home, fulfilling the deepest wish in his and her family’s hearts. The weight of this decision has been heavy, although Sandra would never acknowledge or complain. She supplements the assisted-care hours they are very grateful to receive, by handling her husband’s care throughout the night. In doing so, she has kept the loving and much-loved Father of her children ever-present in their daily life and them in his.

Along with her many commitments, Sandra efficiently holds down a full-time job. She is constantly moving forward, with each step carefully considered and always geared toward giving her children a wholesome upbringing, enhancing her family’s life, and making a difference in the lives of others. The choices Sandra has made and the actions she has taken have instilled in her children, and renewed in all who know her, an appreciation for the value of life, love, family, commitment, honour and sacrifice.

She has shown us all that even in the face of adversity, life’s challenges and often-overwhelming obstacles, so much of what is truly important in life can still be achieved with love, courage and perseverance.
