Zivadinov presentation has now been uploaded to YouTube. Many fascinating insights on brain perfusion and CCSVI.

he mentions an animal study from kansas that came out a few weeks ago. Anybody know more about it?

this is an important talk. Sounds like there is a paediatric study finished that show large iron buildup in early ms patients. A big vote for ccsvi->ms. The chicken and the egg now reversed.

Chicken and Egg

Lots of very useful material (do not try to listen if you are tired). One recent study says immuno increase comes before iron increase buts it is an animal study. The chicken and egg is still unknown for MS, let's not jump to conclusions.

yes , it is best to be well rested before listening ..... or listen in 10 min. segments.

And a strong cup of coffee in hand ..... works wonders also.

I found this presentation very interesting . Dr. Zivadov , much like Dr.Zamboni , throws out a few funny statements . This ability to "lighten up " the seriousness of CCSVI - MS , makes it easier to listen to. And bear in mind .... Dr.Zivadov is a serious professional.

I do wonder tho' ...... why can't cog fog be measured ?

this video would make anyone feel a little cognitively impaired but 100% of paediatric mser had the iron build up didnt they? Doesnt this fly in the face of dr ziv's early findings that ccsvi is worse the worse the ms gets?

yeah ... How do I measure cog fog ? .... LOL

That's almost as funny as when Dr.Zamboni deadpanned ... " I'm not a mouse doctor "

I certainly do agree with Dr.Zivadov's cautious approach . Is it not better to advance continually with small steps , rather than large two steps forward .... and one back ?

To me .... that method is discouraging.

Iron in MS brain

There is more iron in an MS brain than an average brain, but is the iron the chicken or the egg. I like small steps, that way my brain can cope with the information and build a big picture........

but in this talk he refers to a study he's only completed a few weeks earlier where the iron buildup was occurring way too early to fit standard thinking. These kids have ccsvi (at least the iron part) FIRST, before their ms is very advanced. We need to discuss his talk here not older ideas. Where's cheer? This needs commentary from her.

Zivandinov Presentation - Iron

Hello Billmeik,
I think you are reading too much into the findings, then taking too big a step on MS etiology. I stick with my summary " There is more iron in an MS brain than an average brain, but is the iron the chicken or the egg."
Interested to see if Joan has anything to say. However I reserve the right to disagree with her, iron and MS is an hypothesis not an etiological fact.

Did you watch the video? He found iron buildup in 100% of the paediatric ms re's brains (if I remember) which would put iron in the 'first things that happens list'. I'm not saying that ms is caused by ccsvi I'm just saying that this new evidence seems to point that way hugely. Like he says: "very exciting"

At 19:15 Dr. Zivadinov states "we found that protective factors for ccsvi in healthy individuals might be the use of dietary supplements of which the most important in the analysis was ???glycomiloba???" - does anybody know what supplement he is talking about?

Ginkgo biloba.

Here's a quick Wikipedia overview.
